Relax with a glass of wine in downtown Hudson at Uptown 140 Leave a comment

A generous glass of Megalomaniac Bubblehead Rose from Uptown 140 in Hudson.

Downtown 140 owner Andy Lowrey opened his new wine and cocktail bar, Uptown 140, on Oct. 12 with very little fanfare, advertising or internet presence.

I popped in on the quaint little place in the former Western Reserve Cooking School last Thursday just before 5 p.m. It’s located upstairs from Lowrey’s swanky restaurant on Hudson’s historic Main Street. It’s got a lot of old-school charm with the exposed brick wall and the antique tin ceiling.

The place was hopping.

“It’s been very well received and people are enjoying it,” said Lowrey as he popped upstairs to say hello to customers.

“It’s good to get some street recognition on account of Downtown 140 being below street level,” Lowrey said. “The view is the best in the city with the clocktower right outside.”
