BRISTOL – City socialites, Bristol Hospital donors and elected officials came together for a formal gathering and fundraiser Saturday night.
The Bristol Hospital Foundation’s Festival of Wines & Spirits took place at the DoubleTree by Hilton.
A total of 160 people attended, a bit less than in past years due to the ongoing pandemic. They enjoyed gourmet food stations and a vast assortment of wine and spirits. Entertainment was provided by Sharp 5 Jazz Band, featuring City Councilman Greg Hahn.
“This is the first in-person event the Bristol Hospital Foundation has hosted since the Red Carpet Ball in November 2019,” Hospital Foundation Executive Director Mary Lynn Gagnon told the Press. “The Festival of Wines & Spirits was cancelled in 2020 and moved to the fall of 2021 due to the pandemic. Guests were excited to be back at this popular event, and there was an energy in the room as people sampled their wines and caught up with friends. We are so pleased with the results and thrilled that we could offer our sponsors and supporters a safe and fun-filled event.”
Gagnon also offered a special thanks to Marv and Lorraine Friedman from Maple End Package Store for coordinating the event’s wine vendors, and a thank-you to Event Chairman Dr. Falco Scappaticci, from the Festival’s Premier Sponsor, Radiologic Associates.
The evening also featured a special tribute to the late Dr. John Walker, who passed away in 2019 and was instrumental in founding and growing the event since its inception. Proceeds benefit the Emergency Center expansion and renovation project, due to open by the year’s end.
