LE MARS Theres a new venue for the Floyd Valley Foundations annual fall fundraising event, wine and craft beer tasting event, set for Nov. 13.
This year those attending will enjoy a fun evening with friends and family at Ps Pizza House, while supporting a great cause.
The theme is Celebrating Our Heroes.
Doors will open at 6 p.m., with a variety of hand selected local wine and craft beer for sampling. In addition to the tasting, a unique meal of gourmet hors doeuvres and a cash bar will be available.
Silent auction items will be virtual again this year and will begin on Saturday, Nov. 8, with select items and then will continue with additional items that evening.
Back again will be the popular and unique Golden Bottle Event that will kick off the live auction. As doors open, attendees will have an opportunity to make a $100 donation for a hand selected craft beer/wine pack. Only 30 of the craft beer/wine packs will be sold and one box will include a VISA gift card.
Seating will be first come first serve. Masks will be encouraged and hand sanitizer provided. If circumstances change, the foundation is prepared to shift to a virtual event.
Individual tickets are $80 per person and may be purchased by visiting floydvalley.home.qtego.net. Proceeds from this years event will be used to assist in the purchase of new equipment for the Floyd Valley Therapies expansion.
Floyd Valley Healthcare CEO Dustin Wright said the fundraiser is critically important to the hospital.
The foundation helps support the mission to help keep health care local, and the dollars we raise at this event go directly back into supporting our operations which has allowed us to grow over the years and continue to provide high quality healthcare, he said.
With the planned expansion, Wright said new equipment will be added.
The expansion will see pretty much anything you can imagine in regards to physical therapy, treadmills, stair steppers, lifting equipment, those types of things, that will allow us to grow our footprint in our therapies. We havent definitively put together that list yet, but were looking forward to updating that equipment, he said.
The night will end with a program honoring all FVH employees, area EMS/Fire Rescue, police and sheriffs departments, as well as the live auction.
Wright said he is looking forward to the program on the theme, Celebrating Our Heroes.
Its another way for us to recognize the work that has happened over the course of the past two years with the pandemic, and that will directly highlight the team here at Floyd Valley. But weve had a lot of partners in the community that have helped us with the pandemic, he said. It has also shed a huge light on just the work that they do every day with our Le Mars Police Department that supports our operation, and helps keep our community safe, the Le Mars Fire/EMS that do the same and play a pivotal role in transport services and response to our 911 calls in our communities.
To keep it most simple we couldnt do what we do without them, and this is an opportunity to recognize the work of everyone who helps make Le Mars the community it is and the opportunity to make Floyd Valley successful, Wright said.
The live auction will feature premier items including a Sipping Napa Valley at Home package, a Hard Rock Hotel & Casino package, Cabin Get Away in Okoboji, a piece of exquisite jewelry from Hotopp Jewelry & Gifts and much more.
We are so excited to again be hosting this event and at a new venue, said Amy Harnack, foundation manager. This event continues to be a well-attended fundraiser and not only raises funds for the foundation but also increases awareness of services provided by Floyd Valley Healthcare. The volunteer committee is planning another unique and enjoyable evening that is sure to be the signature community event of the year.
