Ice wine is made with a huge variety of grapes, churned together to form liquid gold. Right from Riesling, Chenin Blanc, Vidal Blanc, Cabernet Franc, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot to name a few. However, Ice wine cannot be prepared using old grapes as it gets that intense texture from grapes that can withstand the arctic temperatures producing an enticing yellow pinkish hue, which resembles gold and that’s why it is known as ‘Liquid gold’. No wonder why this wine variant is priced at a whopping $50 for just 375 ml, which is around Rs. 3769.
