NEW ROADS, La. (BRPROUD) — Pointe Coupee Office of Tourism will have an extravaganza of food, wine, and art on False River for a weekend in May.
Wine Down on False River is a weekend filled with wine tastings from Napa Valley, local foods, art, and live music in New Roads.
Guests can enjoy a Winemaker’s Dinner on Friday, May 20. A wine reception will be hosted by Pointe Coupee Historical Society, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Poydras Museum and the Winemaker’s Dinner will be from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at an assigned location. Registered guests will receive the assigned location the week of the dinner. The location will sell at the amount specific to that venue, according to event organizers. Only 140 tickets are available for the Winemaker’s Private Dinner.
The evening of Saturday, May 21 will be Wine Down on False River. Guests can explore Main Street, visiting boutiques, restaurants, and venues in downtown New Roads. Each location will feature artists and wineries from Napa Valley and each guest may receive a two-ounce tasting of each wine offered. Guests will receive a map of all the participating locations. Limited tickets are available.
Options for ordering directly from vineyards will also be available at both events. The dinner is for anyone 21 years old and older. Guests 12 years old and older can attend Saturday’s event but must have a ticket.
The Winemaker’s Dinner ticket price is $250 and includes Wine Down on False River ticket. Wine Down on False River is $50. More information on ticket prices and the event can be found here.
